About David Tvildiani Medical University.Based in the Capital City of Georgia, David Tvildiani Medical University was founded in the year 1990 with the aim to train young physicians and infuse them enough capability to pass at the US Medical Licensing Examination. The David Tvildiani Medical University was later renamed as the David Tvildiani University in 2011 and came to known as country’s one of the first non-governmental medical universities for the purpose of study in Georgia.
AIETI Medical School Has been recognized by the WHO (World Health Organization) and listed in “ World Directory of Medical Schools” in 1995. Shortly after that, it’s diploma hasbeen verified and authorized by the Medical Examination Committees of the USA, different countries of Europe and Asia.

Faculty and Courses:-
The David Tvildiani Medical University has one of the one of the most experience faculties of General Medicine and when it comes to the courses, the university offers a six year long course on General Medicine. The degree of M.D holds the same significance as M.B.B.S in India and features three stages:
- Basic Medical Science Learning comprising 5 semesters or 2.5 years
- Clinical Science Learning which requires subsequent 5 semesters (VI – X)
- Clinical Clerkship comprising 1 year (VI academic year)
Each Semester is of six months duration and a year contains 2 semesters and a final exam is conducted for the purpose to test the candidates’ skills in their respective subjects. Once successful, each candidate is awarded a qualification of a General Practitioner. The courses as followed and textbooks meets the standard of USA and Computer based learning methods along with audio & video aids from the Association of American Physicians and a medical library which was created by U.S.A for the Georgian Foundation for Physician Specialization are also used for the purpose of imparting education in Georgia.

Upon receiving the aforementioned documents, university issues an admission consent letter containing the description of the course, tuition fee etc. The applicant shall transfer the tuition fee for the first year to the account indicated in the admission letter (at least two month prior to resumption). After payment is confirmed, applicants documents are translated, notarized and submitted to the ministry of education in order to acquire a permission for a foreign student to study in Georgia. As soon as the permission is issued the university shall send the applicant a complete set of documents required to apply to the embassy of Georgia for a visa.

Academician David Tvildiani – outstanding Georgian cardiologist, great educator, consummate master of medical art – was a bright representative of Georgian Medical Society, distinguishably combining in himself personal greatness, perfect professionalism in medical field and incomparable teaching talent, creating his era in Georgian Medicine. David Tvildiani initiated and founded a new direction in Medicine – Heliomagnetic Cardiology. He was first and permanent Rector of “AIETI” Medical School until the last days of his life.
